Parents and Teachers Working Together
everychild.onevoice.

Many hands make light work.

- John Heywood

As John’s literary remark suggests, the idea of volunteerism goes back to the Middle Ages and even earlier.

Though the proverb may be centuries old, it couldn’t be truer today -

The driving force of the Running Brook PTA is its volunteers. Parents, grandparents, teachers, neighbors, older siblings, local businesses and so many more helping to bring ideas and events benefiting our school to fruition.

We all want our children's Running Brook Elementary experience to be memorable and the RBES PTA is here to help achieve that.

Whether your strong suit is volunteering your time, typing thank you notes for our wonderful Running Brook staff or maybe donations - monetary and/or material items, we welcome them all and all are valuable. When the giving is heartfelt is goes a long way.

If you are ready to GET INVOLVED, take a look at the volunteer form attached below and let us know what interests you. We encourage you to also attend an upcoming meeting and let us know in person too!

If monetary assistance is more your thing, feel free to use the Paypal donation icon below.

Training for Volunteers

Some quick access to the Howard County during school volunteer agreements. This covers any field trips, in class volunteer work and other school day sanctioned activities:

Confidentiality Training Course

Thank you for your interest in volunteering within the Howard County School System! We value our volunteers and the contributions they make to our students and schools.

According to HCPSS Board Policy, all parent volunteers must complete a Confidentiality Training Course about protecting the privacy of our students, staff, and schools.

Child Abuse/Neglect Training Course

Maryland State Law requires that Volunteers, including Parent Volunteers, complete annual Child Abuse Training prior to serving as a volunteer in any school. Child Abuse Training provides volunteers with the opportunity to learn about child abuse reporting procedures when abuse is suspected.

We are asking that each of our volunteers complete Child Abuse Training prior to volunteering. If you have not yet completed the training, please use this link below to view the PowerPoint presentation. Bring a copy of the form to the school.

Thank you again for your participation in our school and helping to ensure that each of our students remains safe.
